About Our School

"The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind." // Maria Montessori

Mission Statement
Building character through respect for self, others, and the environment

Genuine Approach. Genuine Montessori. Montessori Centre provides a complete and authentic Montessori environment that fosters a love of learning in our children by adhering to Maria Montessori's teaching methods. Founded in 1966, our school is the area's oldest Montessori program, and has earned its reputation as Nashville's premiere Montessori school, educating children from toddler through kindergarten. Our family of Montessori-certified educators and support staff each uphold our mission with integrity.

Independent Learning. Independent Thinking. Dr. Maria Montessori believed that the role of teachers and parents was to "help me do it alone" and that any unnecessary assistance to the child is a hindrance to his or her development. Our Philosophy at Montessori Centre supports this approach and allows our children to learn independently through exploration at their own pace. We embrace our responsibility as early educators to these young absorbent minds, and hold steadfast to the belief that the most important time in a child's development is between birth and age six.
